Found in Assam India, Bangladesh, eastern Himalayas, Nepal, Southern India, western Himalayas, Sikkim, Bhutan, Thailand and South Yunnan Province China in sparse woods at elevations of 1300-2500 meters as a medium sized, cool to warm growing epiphyte with tufted, ovoid-cylindric, sheathed pseudobulbs carrying 2 to 4, alternate, membraneous, linear-lanceolate, acute to acuminate, sessile leaves that blooms in the fall through spring on an arcuate, slender, fractiflex, 3.2″ to 12″ [8 to 30 cm]long, laxly many flowered inflorescence
